Columbia University, located in New York City on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, is one of the world’s leading institutions of higher education and research. Founded as King’s College in 1754 and a member of the Ivy League since its inception.  The University eventually moved from 49th Street to Morningside Heights.

They won their last Rose Bowl with a 7-0 triumph against Stanford.  The year was 1933 and they also beat Syracuse, Penn State, Virginia and Navy to name a few.  Today they still play in the "Light Blue".

One of the most imposing sites in the area is the Columbia “C” on the opposite (or Bronx) shore of the Harlem River. Originally conceived by Robert Prendergast.
